IN THIS LESSON
I have been where you are, well not exactly of course. I have been the recipient of the local food bank. I have had debt collectors knocking on my door, literally, while I ducked & prayed my preschool son would stay silent for a few more minutes, too scared to cry at the idea of losing my home.
I have sat in a hospital bed as people looked at me, like they felt sorry for me, and when I started to ask why, I knew the answer. After 3 months, my speech would return from that particular stroke, but I hadn’t hit rock bottom yet.
I tell you this part of my story for you to know who I am just a sliver for now. That seems only fair since we will be asking you some personal things, right?
At Mistletoe Farm, we understand personally that life transitions can be overwhelming and often daunting. Our mission is to provide a safe, loving and supportive environment for those in need. Each guest who comes through our doors is met with compassion and respect, recognizing the unique challenges they face.
We believe that everyone deserves a chance to rebuild and find peace and Love. Our program is designed to empower individuals, offering guidance and encouragement through daily interactions. From sharing meals to praying together, every aspect of our community fosters connection and understanding.
As part of our commitment to development, we focus on essential life skills that equip our guests for future success. Learning how to dress for interviews, manage personal hygiene, and budget effectively are just a few of the tools we provide. Our community led hands-on training in cooking and landscaping not only teaches practical skills but also instills a sense of accomplishment and independence.
At Mistletoe Farm, we recognize that each transition is a journey, and we are here to walk alongside our guests, helping them find their way to peaceful homes filled with hope and opportunity.
